Does Martyn's Law apply to your venue?
Question 1 of 4
Is your premises a building (or building plus grounds) that the public can access?
Martyn's Law applies to premises wholly or mainly used for things like community activities, worship, entertainment, sport, hospitality, retail, education and similar — where members of the public can come in (with or without a ticket or invitation).
This checker is a simplified guide to the main scope rules in the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, for general information only. It doesn't cover every exclusion or edge case (for example certain transport premises, open spaces, and excluded uses listed in the Act's schedules), and it isn't legal advice. Always confirm your position against the official statutory guidance.
